DANIEL EDWARDS, Principal

Daniel is a former principal and co-owner of Ecotone Environmental, a reputable Portland Landscape Architecture firm based in Portland Oregon. As principal of DELA STUDIO, he is committed to a high level of design and imagination to create unique places that allow people to effortlessly connect to nature. His focus is to create landscapes that are intriguing, functional and minimally disturb the surrounding natural environment. 

His experience in Landscape Architecture is diverse with notable projects completed in typologies such as Affordable Housing, Community Design, Hospitality, Educational and Business Campuses, Residential, and Greenroofs. Daniel’s passion for environmental preservation, an undying curiosity of the built environment, and a sincere appreciation for design are the building blocks for creative yet environmentally sustainable designed projects. His 20 years of landscape architecture experience allows him to confidently communicate with clientele and stakeholders, successfully execute the design process, and effectively coordinate details with contractors.

He is a registered landscape architect, licensed landscape contractor, LEED Accredited Professional and an expert in sustainable design. When Daniel is not busy creating new environments, you can find him on a paddle board or backpacking far away from civilization or travelling the world somewhere interesting.

The needs of our clientele are priority one and our experience has taught us to listen earnestly at the onset of design in order to tailor a landscape that will suit each user of the environment we create. Environmental and fiscal responsibility is our primary goal when working with our clients and our process ensures that this is realized within our designs.
