ISABELLA COURT APARTMENTS II | Vancouver WA

As part of the second phase of an affordable housing project, DELA was tasked with an exciting opportunity to design a space in between the two buildings. The project focused on making the central outdoor spaces inviting to both developments in order to make it cohesive despite there being a significant grade change between the two buildings. DELA provided multiple staircase and ramp connections which led to communal spaces such as a central plaza, and central lawn, a nature playground, and community garden. The central plaza is a dynamic space with an aspen grove, built-in concrete seatbench with wood wrap and lots of table seating for residents to enjoy the plantings and each other.
